Additional Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Information

The Star Wars saga will continue in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, a videogame developed by LucasArts, which casts players as Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" and promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. The expansive story, created under direction from George Lucas, is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In it, players will assist the iconic villain in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi - and face decisions that could change the course of their destiny.

As its name implies, The Force Unleashed completely re-imagines the scope and scale of the Force by taking full advantage of newly developed technologies that will be seen and experienced for the first time: Digital Molecular Matter (DMM), by Pixelux Entertainment, and euphoria by NaturalMotion Ltd. Paired with the powerful Havok Physics™ system, these new technologies create gameplay only possible on the new generation of consoles. DMM incorporates the physical properties of anything in the environment so that everything reacts exactly like it should - wood breaks like wood, glass shatters like glass, plants on the planet Felucia bend like plants on the planet Felucia would, and more. Meanwhile, as a revolutionary behavioral-simulation engine, euphoria enables interactive characters to move, act and even think like actual human beings, adapting their behavior on the fly and resulting in a different payoff every single time.

LucasArts is preparing an unprecedented promotional effort around the launch of The Force Unleashed, encompassing a full line of toys and game-based action figures from Hasbro, as well as a full publishing program from Dark Horse, Del Rey and Palace Press.

Meet the Cast
The Star Wars Saga will continue in 2008 with LucasArts' biggest-ever video game event. Set during the "dark times" between Episodes III and IV, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed portrays the previously untold story of Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice -- and now you can put a face to that mysterious character as well as the major supporting cast members as LucasArts unveils the actors set to star in The Force Unleashed.

The New Technology of The Force Unleashed
With The Force Unleashed, LucasArts not only introduces a new chapter in the Star Wars saga, but also two completely new and innovative technologies -- Digital Molecular Matter by Pixelux Entertainment and euphoria by NaturalMotion Ltd. These groundbreaking technologies combine with Havoc physics to create true next-gen gameplay and the Force like it's never been seen or experienced before.

What Customers Say About Star Wars: The Force Unleashed:

As of this writing (Feb 2010) you can only get all of it through purchasing the Ultimate Sith Edition of the game ($36 on Amazon). I just finished playing this game (the version on this page). It is a giant middle finger from Lucas Arts to those who bought the game early or simply stumbled across good prices on the original version (as I did). What is not immediately clear when purchasing it is that by buying this version you are giving up your right to - at a future point - buy all the DLC associated with it. The game is phenomenal fun, and when you finish it you'll want the DLC. It is also an important sign of things to come - if you do buy this game and enjoy it, think twice about buying the sequel before they release a similar 'ultimate edition' that will make your early purchase worthless.I have never written a review on Amazon before, as this is the first time I've ever felt strongly enough about a product to do it. Bottom line: google 'force unleashed dlc' before you make this purchase.

This is both the worst Star Wars video game I've seen on any platform, and the worst PS3 game I've owned so far. On top of this, there are numerous "WTF am I supposed to do here" moments where it is not at all clear how to move forward at all.I played this game for about 6 hours (which because of the stupid save-state bug, was probably about 4 hours of actual unique gameplay), then threw it out. It's a great concept, but while the demo is fun and polished, the game itself is not. It suffers from poor level design and a number of outright bugs: save files not actually saving where they claim to, forcing you to replay large sections of the game every time you come back to it; invisible walls and floors that have you walking on air and bouncing off of nothing; and poor camera behavior that often makes it impossible to see what you're doing. I only paid $15 for it, and I still feel ripped off. Avoid this game, and be wary of Lucas Arts games in the future, because clearly their quality isn't what it used to be.

Now you can. I spent some time in the training room first. Ever want to be Darth Vader. I did take a star down for that. The game does have different levels, so if Padawan is too easy, you can try Sith Lord difficulty. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed lets you play as a Dark Jedi and you kill anyone and anything in your way. It just takes a bit of getting used to.

There are a lot of force moves (my favorite so far is simply throwing objects at people. However, I don't think the criticism about it being too easy is justified. Use the Force to throw Stormtroopers. In fact, overall, I really think the game makes good use of the Wii controls. I haven't had this much fun with a Star Wars game since Dark Forces.I think some of the other reviewers are right in that the game controls are awkward - particularly those bloody camera angles. However, I haven't found it too difficult so far. I think the point of an easier game is to let casual gamers play as well. For the price, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is a good deal of fun.

This was a Christmas Gift. The young man I got it for, has drove his mother crazy playing it. Overall I would say it was worth the money and has enjoyed playing.

The game is a lot of fun but short. You can easily finish it in a weekend. If you can get it cheap go for it.
